Julius Koch has been honoured in the renowned TOP 100 Innovation Awards and now bears the coveted 2025 TOP 100 Innovators seal. This award is given only to companies that impress with their outstanding innovative strength.

As the global market leader in the field of technical textiles for external sun protection, we are one of the hidden champions in the industry. Julius Koch develops and produces textile solutions for the international market that fulfil the highest technical requirements – from strings and tapes to ladder cords and nets & fences. We offer the entire technical spectrum of production processes: from braiding and weaving to crocheting and dyeing.

“For us, the TOP 100 Innovation Award is a great appreciation of our work. It not only values our innovative product ranges, but above all the exceptional performance and commitment of our entire team,” explains Jens Klotmann, CEO of Julius Koch Group. “Over the last two years in particular, we have continuously established innovative processes in all areas of our company and have aligned our organisation and initiatives accordingly.”

A milestone: new patent application for the agricultural industry.

In spring 2024 we established a research and development entity in Poland, which enabled us to apply for a technical textile innovation patent. This highly specialized product was developed explicitly for the agricultural sector and already today anticipates future challenges caused by changing climate conditions such as rising temperatures, extreme wind turbulences and heavy hailstorms. The system efficiently protects harvests and supports farmers to optimise their yields and increase profitability.

TOP 100 innovation leaders.

The TOP 100 evaluation process analyses the innovative strength of the participating companies based on more than 100 criteria divided into five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success. The scientific selection process is led by renowned innovation researcher Prof Dr Nikolaus Franke, founder of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Partners of the competition are Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the BVMW association, manager magazine and ZEIT for Entrepreneurs.

On 27 June 2025, Julius Koch will receive the official award together with other outstanding innovators at the German Summit in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz. Ranga Yogeshwar, mentor of the Top100, will personally congratulate and honor the company’s achievements.
